| Older Belligerent Men
If John McCain wins the nomination, he'll do so on the backs of older belligerent men. What is this new swing voter bloc? It's something I've teased out from exit polls and anecdotal observations. It helps explain why McCain has decent enough conservative appeal to keep racking up pluralities in places like South Carolina and Florida. First, the exit polls. McCain does best with older voters. He does better with men than women. He wins military veterans and those who believe the war in Iraq is the most important issue. None of this should be surprising. All of these qualities apply to McCain personally. But there is something more raw and instinctual at work here too. Older belligerent men are not afraid of confrontation, either personally or politically. I've heard more than one guy mention McCain's volcanic temper as a positive.

Statements from victims' families
I Lisa Bigjohn, went through the great loss of losing my sister. It has affected my life a lot. I now live in a dark world. Because of this persons actions, my life has totally changed. I am not the same person I used to be. A part of me is still out there searching for her. Sometimes I see someone that looks like her and it shocks me. I cant shake the manner of her death. I live in fear now because of how she was murdered. When I hear a scream it gives me an image of her screaming and begging for her life. Her loss has brought anger into the lives of my children. They always express to me how could something like that happen to her, she was streetwise? I feel that my family is being punished by this mans actions. The murder of my sister brought a lot of pain into my familys lives.

Read the whole thing when you have time, in the forums, agw is the author Of course you are all invaluable in the NHS, but wouldn't it be more efficient if there were more medical people and less administration? Our local hospital at Southend was paying some chap £35k pa to 'manage' the car park, he made a complete and utter balls up of it. It takes me 30 mins to drive there and then an hour to park, and some of the auxillary nursing staff have to pay £5 per day out of their taxed pay of £35 for a god knows how long a shift to park there , its obscene. BTW he also had to pay a £5! .
